At 6"3", I have learned to be careful to not smack my head when I am in Japan. But I bonked my head pretty good on the wood beams in the restaurant. More embarassing than painful.<BR/><BR/>My first trip to Japan I hit my head pretty bad several times but on the most recent trip at the beginning of 2007, I did not hit my head.

There was a lot of snow. But as we were driving up into the mountains whole villages were out cleaning up. By the time we got to Oouchijuku the main street was quite clear.

I visited Ouchijuku in 2006 in the spring - http://toshogu.blogspot.com/2007/03/ouchijuku-fukushima-prefecture-japan.html <BR/><BR/>Wow, that is a ton of snow. How could you even walk along the road in the middle of the village?
